Nature Inspired Prints 04/26/2010
I love how adding screen prints to clothing and accessories makes them that much more interesting and unique. There's lots of new wearable art in the store and beautiful nature inspired prints! Super soft bamboo t-shirts screen printed by my sister, April Dean, with her own artwork.... Horn of Plenty earrings, brooches and antique brass necklaces featuring prints by Cathy Terepocki.... And the new Shi pieces have arrived! Belt buckles, pendants, and soft leather cuffs with artwork by April Lacheur.... Speaking of nature inspired prints.....some of my favorite screen printed clothing is by Loden and I just got great news from designers Charlotte and Shea. They are making new spring Pedal Jackets (similar to the one many of you have been asking about) and I should have them in the store within a couple of weeks. I'll keep you posted! Jessie Turner Jewellery Design 04/13/2010
There's beautiful new silver jewellery in the store by the amazingly talented Jessie Turner. Some of you may know Jessie as she's lived in the Valley and still has family here - including her sister, the also amazingly talented Sara Turner, who runs Reel Films in Cumberland (great films - click on the link above to see the schedule!). Jessie Turner's jewellery is timeless and beautifully simple. She creates subtle textures and patterns which are constantly catching both light and the eye (oooh I do have a weakness for pretty shiny things)... Jessie has this to say about her work: "I believe that all things worn by people can have purpose and meaning that fulfills lives in some way, creating balance within and between the individual, the community and the natural world. I hope to bring this alive in my work by creating jewellery that encourages people's individuality and connection to truth, nature and beauty." Like I said, amazingly talented - come see for yourself! Sabrina Butterfly Pants 04/13/2010
Well, we officially LOVE Sabrina Butterfly pants and it's hard to find pants that fit so many women SO well!! We have in both capris and long pants in a couple of different very flattering, very comfortable styles. I was just talking to Sabrina about her wash instructions for these pants as I've had a few questions along those lines so here are the answers for you. The pants are preshrunk and yes they really can be both machine washed and dried. Sabrina actually recommends putting them in the dryer for twenty minutes even if you hang dry them just to get out wrinkles and get them back to size (as they do stretch out a bit with wear). So yes - wash them, dry them, live in them! |
