After several customer requests, look what we have in.........Pyrrha!
Pyrrha was founded 17 years ago by Vancouver couple Danielle Wilmore and Wade Papin after they came across a box of 19th century wax seals, rich in natural beauty and symbolism. "Making jewelry out of them was inspired by a desire to give the fragile seals new life and permanence", says Danielle. "Because we live in such a throwaway society, it's necessary to create some things that can be kept", says Wade.
The wax seals are hand cast in reclaimed silver and bronze in the couple's studio in Vancouver. "We like to show the maker's hand and celebrate the flaws and original cracks in the waxes", says Wade. Each necklace comes with a card that tells you about the symbolism and meaning of the seal.
