Now that moving madness and Market Day are over, we've had some time to focus on arranging (and rearranging) our new home. It's so great to have more space to display our clothing, jewellery and accessories! And I'm in love with all of the locally upcycled, refurbished, vintage furniture pieces we now have in the store. They are stunning on their own, really add to the feel of the space, and also make fantastic displays! Take this gorgeous sideboard that was refurbished by Blackberry Lane Up-cycled Furniture for example..... It beautifully displays these locally handmade boxers, pillows and jewellery! Our new mirrors have also been upcycled......they used to hang in the Wickaninnish Inn! After a little love (sanding and varnishing) they now hang in the storage room that we've turned into two large change rooms..... P.S. A huge THANK YOU to all of you who have stopped in to say congratulations, and even brought hugs and flowers. I'm convinced we have the very best customers in the world!
There's so much happening in downtown Courtenay this weekend! The Wearable Art Show at the Comox Valley Art Gallery is this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. I went last year and it was an AMAZING show - I definitely recommend checking it out. To see some great photos from last year's show you can have a look at our blog post from last July. The Local Colours Arts Festival is also in full swing. Come down and watch some of our incredible local talent creating and performing in various locations throughout the downtown core. Market Day is also this Saturday, July 21st, from 9am to 7pm. I'm thinking this year should be a breeze for us compared to the last few. We won't have to haul everything all the way over to 5th Street.... we can just take it right out the door! We'll have a booth set up in front of our new location beside the Zocalo Cafe. Lots of great deals and summer sales can be found downtown on Market Day.......not to mention vendors galore, handmade goods, fabulous local music, art and food!
Come downtown this weekend and help celebrate all the wonderful local talent and creativity we have here! And don't forget to stop by our new home to say hello and check out our Market Day sales! Yup, that's what it feels like all right! Who in their right mind would move a store when it's 30 degrees outside?? Just adds to the fun I say! Only 2 more days left here at our cute little 6th Street location. We'll definitely miss our wonderful 6th Street neighbours - especially everyone over at Atlas and Hairpins. But we're excited about our new space and really looking forward to having more room. I can hardly imagine what it's like to have a real back room, and a storage room too! Enough space to sew, enough space for more than one stroller to come in the store at a time........not to mention room to add some amazing new clothing and jewellery lines!
So here's the plan: OPEN on 6th Street, Saturday, July 14th - last day on 6th! CLOSED Sunday and Monday, July 15th and 16th OPEN in the new space on 5th Street (hopefully) TUESDAY, JULY 17th! And just for you...... a SECRET SALE! : Come down on our last day here on 6th Street (Saturday) or our first day on 5th Street (Tuesday....hopefully) and mention you read this blog post for 25% off your purchase! Because you really are the very best customers and we truly appreciate your support during this transition. I'll leave you with some photos of the lovely little Edit pouches we just received. They come in both small and large sizes and were made by hand from vintage fabric and repurposed leather. |
