It's that time of year when it seems best to wear layers since the weather changes from one hour (or minute some days) to the next. The sun feels sooooo good and these adorable dresses we just got from Little Houses could easily be layered under a cardigan or even over jeans..... Shanah, the designer of Little Houses Clothing, works out of a studio in Vancouver. We also got this great sweater jacket from her with three quarter length sleeves and an asymmetrical front.... And this fitted stretch linen blazer by Little Houses has genuine leather elbow patches! Two more great layering pieces are the cardigan and tunic dress below by Kali Clothing. Designed and made in Toronto, all Kali pieces are made of Lyocell (also called Tencel) which is a natural fibre derived from dissolving wood pulp cellulose. Lyocell is one of my favorite fabrics because it's so soft and breathable, drapes beautifully, and most importantly it scores really high on the environmentally sustainable scale. That's because it's not only made from wood pulp but it's also manufactured using a non-toxic solvent and a closed loop process - meaning about 99% of the solvent is recovered and reused over and over. Feels great to wear in more ways than one!
